The First Ever Photograph of People
0Daguerre took the first ever photo of a person in 1839 when, while taking a daguerreotype of a Paris street, a pedestrian stopped for a shoe shine, long enough to be captured by the long exposure (several minutes). “Boulevard du Temple“, taken by Daguerre in 1838 in Paris, was the first photograph of a person. The image shows a street, but because of the over ten minute exposure time the moving traffic does not appear. The exceptions are the man and shoe-shine boy at the bottom left, and two people sitting at a table nearby who stood still long enough to have their images captured. (click photo to enlarge)

Trapped in time… and alone. The man has no significance in his world he was not selected or positioned, he was not even expected to appear, yet in the world of time he serendipitously becomes the first person captured on film. This is the world of Quon Ganjo.
Boy Portrait
0This was created using Adobe Photoshop with a few custom brushes. The picture of the boy was from one of my favourite magazines… The absurb and eclectic Permanent Food.
