Dorsal Striatum

Back in the dome today. Checking 3 different camera passes with varying degrees of movement. I’m still not really getting the right kind of disorientation I’m looking for. Even using an intense barrel roll doesn’t really give the sensation of the room moving, but more like the objects in the scene are spinning. I think I’m going to need to add some environmental cues to anchor the space.

I’m also working on some ideas for the look. I’m currently really digging the uberchrome of the concept art I’ve been working on but it’s nice to explore different visual ideas. Here I’m experimenting with a lot of subtle grading and effects to build more depth. It’s starting to feel a little more murky or deep ocean, which I like, but I’m not sure it works with the overriding data viz style.
